So wayyy back in June of 2009 I flew to Idaho (I was off track for the semester at BYUI) to be with friends after going through some hard things. My bestie Lauren was there and she was dating a guy named Mike Parks. Lauren and Mike decided to have me hang out with them and Mikes best friend Brett. They warned me that he is VERY touchy feely, super friendly, crazy, outgoing, and fun. I though alrighttt...my kind of guy! Well we ended up hanging out that whole day and had a blast. I wasn't looking for a relationship at the time but I was excited to hang out with all of them when I got back to Idaho.

So I start attending the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy...Brett and I hung out every once in a while and kept in touch. Then my friend and I were looking for a new place to live..we ended up moving into the house right across the street from Brett. By then I had started to have a little crush on Brett and was so excited to be living across the street. (Not stalkerish at all hahahaha)Well from then on my friends and I would hang out with Brett and his friends on a daily basis. We all got super close and had a ton of fun together. I would look forward to Brett coming over because he would always dance, sing and make all of us laugh so hard. He reminded me a ton of my brothers with his dancing, and funnyness...and then he's so much like my dad with his strong testimony and amazing talent of connecting with others. On June 1st 2010 Brett asked me to be his girlfriend : ] By then we had become incredibly close friends and were already basically dating long before that.

In October Brett and I went down to Salt Lake to see General Conference with his family. To my surprise he proposed right temple square with a huge crowd behind us that clapped for us.
Now here we are in Spokane Wa with 50 days to the wedding! I fall more and more in love with him every day. He really is my best friend and I'm so grateful to be with my dream guy : ]

I'm so excited for you guys! I can't believe you already have a blog put together. You are amazing! You guys are so cute together and I really like Brett, he's a good guy. Well, I've only met him twice, but you can tell ya know? You look beautiful in the "engagement" pictures that you have on your blog. I'm sure the one you picked for the wedding invitations are just as beautiful! I can't wait to see them!

ReplyDeleteThere's a girl in the temple square proposal picture that just makes me laugh. She's in the left, top corner - with glasses and a completely glazed over look. I think it's great contrast to Sarah's fully engaged and emotional expression:) Just thought I'd point that all out to you!

Sarah! I'm so happy you're starting a "couple's-blog-but-in-reality-only-the-wife-posts-things". Haha! You two are sooo great together. I have loved Brett much longer than you have (And have probably spent more time in bed with him. Don't feel bad about that.). He and I have been close since we were little kids and I'm so happy both of us have/are marrying sexy foxes who are strong in the gospel! I just want you to know I think you're awesome! Keep posting, I'll be checking back!
